Direct Cremation, sometimes referred to as a 'Pure Cremation' is being considered by both those who are trying to control
costs, and with people who do not want the body present at a service.
​
A direct cremation is the simplest and cheapest alternative to a traditional funeral; There are no decisions to make regarding funeral options, and no mourners attend the cremation. ​
There are several big companies, who are well known due to their extensive advertising, who offer this service, but at a very impersonal and almost industrial level, without specifically trained staff, and who do not operate from a dedicated funeral home.
We are different. With us, for a small additional fee, you still have an opportunity to say your last goodbyes in person, or even have a small service in our chapel of rest if you want to. This service is not provided by the larger direct cremation only companies. You can be rest-assured that with Finch & Sons, your loved one is always being treated with the utmost care and dignity by our trained, compassionate staff, and will rest with us at our funeral home until the day of the cremation.

What now?
If your loved one has died in the community or a nursing home and you need our immediate assistance, please call us on 01908 367777 where you can talk directly to an experienced member of our staff. *Please note that in order to keep costs low, there is a £175 fee for taking a loved one into our care outside of normal working hours.
Once your loved one is in our care, you can make arrangements in person, over the phone, or via our online application form where you have the choice to pay online.
If your loved one has passed away in hospital you can start making arrangements straight away in person, over the phone or via our online application form where you have the choice to pay online.
